If you are in Vancouver at the right time, why not take in The Gesneriad Society Convention Show mentioned above. If you are a member of The Gesneriad Society, why not attend as a delegate. The Gesneriad Society is the international society that makes the entire family of gesneriads its area of interest. The African violet is just one member of this plant family. In the Convention show, you will not only see some show plant quality African violets, you will see many, many other interesting and varied species in this family.

Local affiliate societies of AVSC, please send us news of your upcoming events and we will post your notices here. You can send the information to violets@avsc.ca. Please give all necessary details such as time, date, place, admission charge if any, contact information, and anything else that is appropriate.

Come to one of the many shows of our local affiliates and you can enjoy the beauty of the blossoms and the wonderfully shaped and grown plants. You can also make friends with the local African violet enthusiasts and learn more about their wonderful plants. Most shows include include a sale where you can purchase starter plants and leaves. Some shows have showplants for sale as well.
