How Can You Help?
· Commercial business or Affiliate Club?
Do you want to attract more members, share your knowledge or sell more products? In addition to advertising in Chatter, our upcoming Convention in Toronto will offer you a brand-new option. Two sales tables will be offered to all Commercial or Affiliate members who wish to advertise and or sell their products in this expanded Sales area.
Rental of the tables, which are six feet in length, are $30.00 each. At this time a maximum of two tables are being offered per application, but more may be available later if space allows.

be sent out in January so it is important to ensure that your membership
information is up-to-date with the
Membership Chairman so that you can be informed of the latest offers and
opportunities.

· Donation of Auction Items
The silent and live auctions are an addictive part of any convention. This is the moment that you discover that item or plant that you never knew you wanted so much! Please consider donating plants,leaves or artwork. All monies raised will be greatly appreciated. This year, Liz McGrath will be in charge of the auction items and Chinese raffle baskets. Her contact information will be posted in the January issue of Chatter and on this web site by late December.
· Creating a Chinese Raffle Basket
With a theme like “Violets Roam the World”, you can easily create a theme
for your basket and get members to bring in items related to it. You can
choose a country, a festival
or even your own area as a theme and assemble a basket that is filled with
goodies. TAVS will be donating a special prize to the club with the most
tickets.
· Donating Items to the Registration Packs
We all know that one of the first things we do at a convention is to check out the contents of the registration packs. It is always such a treat to find all the goodies that have been donated by various clubs. We are expecting 150 delegates, but you can donate as many items as you want and we will have different items in the registration packs. All donations will be acknowledged in a special section in the souvenir booklet. If you would like to donate items towards the registration bags, please contact Marilyn Crompton by email at: avsc.convention2014@rogers.com by December 2013.
· Placing an Ad in the Souvenir Booklet
In an effort to raise funds towards the convention, we will be selling
advertising space in the Souvenir Convention Booklet that each registered
delegate will receive when attending the event. Ad space will be available
to Affiliate Clubs and their members and to businesses solicited by members
of Toronto AVS. It may also be used to send out a greeting or congratulatory
message with respect to the convention from an individual, group or
affiliate club or business. The rates will be:
· Grayscale: ½ page (4 ½ inches wide x 3 ½ inches high) $50
· Grayscale: 1 full page (4 ½ inches wide x 7 inches high) $75
· Colour : Inside front, inside back or back cover - full page $125
· Awards Donations
AVSC and our exhibitors of plants and designs greatly appreciate the donations our members and friends make to the Awards Program for each of our Convention shows. We hope you will donate again this year and that some who have not donated before will join in. We can assure you that our exhibitors are getting ready to put forth their best. Your cheque or money order should be made payable to “African Violet Society of Canada Awards” or “AVSC Awards” for short.
A minimum donation of $10.00 is recommended as this corresponds to the minimum award size of $10.00 for a Best in Class Award. If you are donating a larger amount, a multiple of $10.00 such as $20, $50, etc. is recommended as all awards large and small are multiples of $10.
Your donations are always appreciated and will be acknowledged in the April-June 2014 Chatter. Please send them to arrive by March 31, 2014.

· Help Spread the Word
Can you help us spread the word about the Convention? This could be encouraging friends and fellow club members to attend or letting relatives that live close to Toronto know about it.
