What is a Semiminiature African violet?"

A semiminiature African violet is an African violet whose diameter when mature is not over 8 inches. Occasionally a vigorous grower in this category will get larger, but they must be trimmed to 8 inches or less in order to be entered in semiminiature classes in shows. They are normally grown in 2 1/2 inch pots to help maintain their small size and to keep the pot and plants in proportion to each other.
